New member and complete tool here.
Recently bought my first ever Subaru, a GC8 Impreza AWD.
Goal of nearly 30 years achieved.
I literally bought it to help with my mental health and depression and it has honestly worked better than Xanax.
It’s a complete mess but sure anyway.

I absolutely love the car.
As I’ve said, it’s been a childhood dream from the first game I ever got for the PlayStation, Colin McRae Rally. So I’ve had a want in me for a dark blue Scooby since I was 5. The plan is to try and restore the bits on it that need fixing. It’s a 2001 so I’ll be a while before it’s classified as vintage. I’ve been trying to get it vrt’d now for ages. Had the inspection 3 weeks ago and still no word on a price so hopefully it’s not bad as I’m an artist and buying it took everything I had 🤣.
I got my mechanic mate to have a look at it and I got the full vhi clinic update today.
It needs a lot…
It’s definitely got rust underneath, and the paint isn’t good.
But apart from that it needs a good bit.
New rad, brake lines, the exhaust has a leak. It has an oil leak, front shox, rear trailing mount bushings, front rubber hoses, diff mounts and a pair of fresh boots for the back.
There’s also mad bits of like to fix but they are the mechanical necessities

Welcome along and well ware! Classic subarus are getting rarer these days and definitely worth putting the work into it :)
