Carroll & Roche have cleaned up their act quite a bit......new parts man and a new mechanic who has previous subaru experience gained outside of Ireland. remember if you have remaps and the like main dealers often cant remedy certain engine problems. anyway AndyC are you just wondering or has your car got a problem that needs fixing?? i know barkel are no longer a main dealer put still have plenty of experience with Subaru's.

If its not an Oil change or something REALLY basic or handy to make money from they dont want to know and wont be helpful at all. Glad to hear they have a new parts guy though.

What kind of problems are you thinking of that main dealers cant remedy on cars with remaps ?

Carrol and Roche Highly recommend them, talking to there new Mechanic on saturday
he is polish and worked for a Subaru dealer 12 years sound man,he put new studs on the car for me
Knows a lot what he is talking about

My power steering has stopped working properly. There is a loud "whirring" noise coming from under the power steering reservoir. The noise gets louder if I turn the wheel. Also, when Im turning the wheel goes tight like I have no power steering then goes loose again like I do have power steering.

Im thinking the power steering pump is broken? (if there is one)

Why dont you try Cartorque or else Bursey Pepperd.

Thanks Renno. I have heard good things about Cartorque. I will try some places tomorrow and whoever gives me the most attention wins.

Did you check power steering fluid level???   i'd say you did so pump prob fooked. Either way not serious enough to waste money at a main dealers as only a pump. Any decent mechanic be up to the job.. Second hand pump bout e80 or so.

There's a couple of different pumps on them, make sure you give exact details when getting it.
Cheers
John

same thing happened my mates Type R as davelegacy said there check the fluid level.. he topped up his and it worked sound since... was making good noise before that
