Lads I might b takin a px of a Mondeo St 2.2 tdci, I've done a Cartell check and all looks good, it came from the north and I was wondering is there a way of checking the north/ uk mileage also? I'm after paying for a cartel report, I have the uk reg, anyway or anyone that could check it without paying for another report?

use cartell again with the UK reg... but u will have to pay again as far as i know unless you ring them and tell them it had a UK reg before the Irish one

Did you only pay for the Irish check, i think its extra to do a full check.. For some reason aswell i think cars can go off the radar if they have been brought from UK into the North, think there will be no Northern History, so if car left Uk with 60k on it, put 30k on it up in the North given total of 90k, it could be clocked back to 70k and it wont show up as mileage not correct. as last record in Uk was 60k.. things could be after changing do

I notice that most car ad's now say for example "55k on the clock" does this mean that they are covered legally even if they know that the yoke had 105k before they clocked it and swapped the steering and pedals. :naughty: :dontknow:

I did pay for the full check, and i did a check on both the irish reg & the english reg. All checked out apart from no mileage readings available. Ive a friend that works in the NCT so they are gonna check out hte odometer reading from when it was Nct'd here, its been down sounth for nearly 2 1/2 years. Not definative but most I can check back. Mechanic owns it so able to tell me what he has done to it, but not official stamped service history. Mines the same when ya look at it that way, im the first owner here and done the bulk of the work myself or through mechanic friends. Has previous swervice history up till 2007, im just very very wary. not of him, but imported cars in general. Its a 2005 Mondeo ST TDCI which would be a reps favourite.
