so the last couple of times the petrol light has come on iv put €50 in the tank and seem to be getting fairly consistant results !
anyone wish to hazard a guess at km's covered for €50 on a 300/310 jdm bug :ponder: :ponder: :ponder: :ponder:

winner gets karma :icon_headbang:

would just like to compare to others to see if she's a thirsy bitch or not !

also what you would expect to get back from your power/model :dontknow: for €50

Thats approx 30 litres of fuel yeah?

That would do me about 260-270kms of normal sensible driving, but would drop to 200kms if car spent more time on back roads so my guess would be 200kms

€50

@ 1.689

= 29.6 litres

= 6.51 gallons

@ 23 mpg (based on my 300hp bug)

= 150 miles

= 240 kms

Depends on driving style though, mine is very easy but on shitty short journeys

hint , mostly a 3km commute 4 times daily with a 5+ min warm up in the morning s !
i know i should cycle it to loose my lil moobs but im a lazy git who loves the rumble .

I thought warm ups would be a thing of the past with petrol prices these days!!!

at 29.6 litres i would say about 12L/100km

so 250km.

mix that with odd overtake and backroad squirt here and there gonna say 200 area.

1 million kilometers...

and we have a winner ! mr joescooby is spot on(karma delivered ) . so evedentially she is slightly more thirsty than most think but not enough to worry me thinks . im sure if i was more careful i could squeeze the 200 mark !

@ niallyboy , langer
@ nodge , price of petrol is a c*nt , but warmups and cool down are advised to try and prolong engine imo
@ robbie , that made me lol

some seeem to think 250+ is possible , i dont (unless you drive like a complete granny ) !

and harvey has jus posted this on s.net

"On modern engines there is absolutely no need for engines to be prewarmed. Start the engine and drive off without letting the engine strain ie. too high a gear and not enough revs and so not rev it hard. Subject to the driving conditions the water temperature will probably read normal by two miles but it will take a further 6-10 miles for the oil pressure to come up to around 80 C.
Keep the revs down while the engine is warming up. I always aim for 2000-2500 rpm max for the first couple of miles and not more than 3000 rpm until I think the oil is warming satisfactorily and say 3500 for a bit after that.
Something else I do on particular cold days is crank the engine for a period of around 10 seconds until I see the oil pressure guage starting to rise. At that point I deactivate the kill switch and allow the engine to fire. This means the oil system is fully primed and immediately has oil pressure. A bit anal perhaps but when I recently stripped one of my engines which had been run pretty hard there was no visible wear on crank, bearings, bore or pistons. ."

intresting reading !

As above, no point leaving it sit for too long to warm up or cool down, just take it easy out the road for a little while keeping revs down. Same before you switch it off, last couple of miles are handy.
Do it with any performance car I have owned.

50 notes for 180km

20 miles just costed me nearly quarter of a tank :new_puppy_dog_eyes:

:subaru: :subaru:

You not got that hole in the tank fixed then :ponder2: once you get that sorted you should be back up near 1,000k per tank
