somedody at the last barretstown trip mentioned about a mk1 golf
that was beating a lot of cars around
told my boss today and he told me it is a mate of his
it was running 600 bhp
since then the engine has blown so not sure exact figure now
think it us to belong to someone in turbo technics or something like that
said it was the fastest car hes ever driven
would love to see this car
 
Roundabout the mid nineties people were doin some mad stuff with vw's and fords. twin engines in golfs with a gearbox for each axle,5 cylinder quattro engines and the like. Have a look on youtube for "bergrennen mickhausen"-its a hillclimb in germany,theres some mad golfs running it.
