My job is talking about sending me to Ireland for a year or two and they said they would even ship my car if I wanted too. So my question is what legal issues would I run into do you think? I am sure it would be one hell of a headache but if my company is willing to pay for it well :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger: :D.

And on a side note I am beginning to hate the snow and ice. Its fun for the first few days but after several weeks of this crap...........well :shoot: to the snow. Its all the other drivers around me that worry me they slide all over the place. Gotta love good ol'faithful :subaru:

Im not really sure, for 1 if its europe ur heading for why ship it when u can drive. Also u can get driving courses for snow driving which would probably b a good idea, u dont want to right off ur car do u.

Ul probably have to get the number plate changed sooner or later also, maybe even ur license because ul have to get insured in the counrty ur heading to. I havent a clue what sort of costs ul b looking at.

wetpatch are you on drugs ,hes moving to ireland not somewhere in europe

how are you aodhan, good to here your movin here(ireland)great roads for driving ha ha and no snow for skiing here

on the car side of things you can drive your car here for 6 months before havin to pay vrt at 30% value of your car to are government.
if your licence is from the ec it should be grand to use here once you insure the car in this country.

hope to see you and your scooby here soon :subaru:

if he can prove he has owned the car for more then six months incl insurance documents etc etc etc its FREE...........

Ah sure life is grand here, its all the other drivers in the snow and ice are a real danger. This video is good proof of that ... http://www.king5.com/sharedcontent/VideoPlayer/videoPlayer.php?vidId=114054&catId=231

The company will pay for my expenses with the car, but is there an insurance company over there that would insure a 23 year old and a 2.5 turbo? Now thats the real question;)

It look like I wouldnt be moving over til July or August so by then I will have owned the car 8-9 months with full insurance, no claims (knock on wood) over here.

About e3000 i reckon...............????????????

3780 dollars about...... wat u paying now???????????

Ouch, right now I am paying about $1700 US every year with the 2005 2.5 LGT and a 1997 328is on the policy.

Very unlikely. I presume its also left hand drive which will also go against you.

Yea its left hand drive. I will start looking more in depth as the time gets closer. Maybe they will just have to get a company car when I arrive. I will settle for nothing less then a Subaru

The funny thing is, the bosses give you so much more when they send us overseas since they think they are taking us away from home, but for me, they are sending me home to work and paying for a ton of crap so, hey keep me here as long as you want. 8)

If you would like numbers for insurance companies we can post few up for you and ring them and see roughly how much your looking.?????

Sigh, i sometimes do that, i read something then in my head i make up words that wherent even writen in the first place. Sometimes ive read out whole sentances which havent even exsisted. my mistake.

TBH it depends how long you will be here?

I'm sure you could hire out a new Legacy or Impreza or even both if your here long enough!

Either way it would be great to meet up with you at a ISDC event

Alan.

It would be a one year contract with the possibility of a permanent management position. What ever the company decides to do about a car I plan on showing up to a few of the events, This seems like a great group of people here. Thanks for the information that has being offered up so far. :)
