MTB tracks around Dublin

Getting my mountain bike back into a usable off road machine after it being a commuter for the last year or so. New off-road tyres and other bits and pieces to get it good again. Bought it 2 years ago with the intention of going mountain Biking few times a month which never happened. Time to dust of the Cobb webs and get back into it. Only tracks I know from when I was younger is hell fire club and up around Massey's wood. Any other decent tracks or trails around Dublin or Wiclow directions? Anyone on here an active mountain biker? Have heard there is some good tracks up at tick nock I might check out tomorrow

Yeah, been there last year - awesome stuff!

It was first time after like 2 years gap so I couldnt feel my arms after first go at that single track. BUT I liked it so much that I did it one more time and than I almost cried from pain in my palms :D

You need either train yourself for it or have better front suspension ;] I was with Trek 4500 hard tail.

Single track itself is demanding and dangerous, big rocks, roots and quite few jumps if u go faster. At the bottom of track there is a map and legend saying that this is the hardest of what they have, I belief. Or one of hardest.

Anyway - great fun!

might aswell throw myself in the deep end so! hopefully my suspension is up to it, a set of Rock Shox Reba's seem to be a decent set so far!

Front one has to be decent, thats for sure. Better of if u have full suspension ;-] Reba's are OK I believe!

Want to go there this summer/spring! ~40-50 eur for a bike rent for a half day (or all day - cant remember) - but its soooo worth it!

i was up there today, fook me its tough! taking it very handy aswell, found out a few things that need changing on the bike too. i snapped the chain on about half way up so had to fix that on the side of the trail. So i need to get bigger pedals, put longer stem back on and move the saddle back a but, brought my GoPro camera up with helmet mount and got pretty decent footage albeit angled a bit low, will know for next time! Was going to go up again tomorrow but there is a big competition on so the place will be packed

Its a tough climb
Great view aswell to boot
Great place

yeah, this is the one I was at :-] Really good hill climb (my football practice paid of - was able to climb it two times no probs).

is this Merida you are driving? Or what bike is it?

One the note: You hold your Thumbs very interesting. Why do u hold them in that place? You are not gripping hard enough on handle, dangerous :|

never noticed my thumbs, probably a bad habit from cycling to work , have them close to the gear shifters underneath. Bike is a Cube Race ltd, nothing fancy but good enough to get back into the cycling.
