My little 106 gti has developed a leak into the drivers footwell the car is in good shape apart from the roof it's bubbling rust around the screen up top.
Rest of the car is good no rust under it at all.
So it needs a new screen insurance won't cover it as its 3rd party and rust needs sorting while the screen is out and roof needs to be painted.
Am I mad doing this as the cars not worth much but it's a great little car and is good crack to drive
What would you do if it was yours and ballpark figure on what it would cost.

Cheers
Keith

I'd repair it kieth that's probably where your leak is from either that or the Sunroof drains if it has one, shouldn't cost to much screen and repair rust I'd say 4-500

It's the non sunroof model deffo the screen leaking I can see water pooling on the inside then down onto the floor
Would a dehumidifier dry it out or just whip the carpet out

It would work use them all the time.
Only problem is the underlay acts like a sponge and is the hard part to dry.
Carpet is easy to dry as its thin and not spongy!

Lift carpet and check underlay first.

I'll pull it back and have a look
Cheers lads might be a few years left in the old girl yet lol

Remove front seats
lift carpet
newspaper in
after mostly dry
remove paper
hold up carpet with bent welding rod etc.
Put in heaters let ðry for the day usually

you can take the whole carpet out and let dry on a washing line etc.
but the sponge can take ages so I prefer the heater route

Good stuff it's only one side front drivers and back doorbell drivers side other side is grand as far as I can see
I'll sort the screen and roof first Rick's auto did a good job on the wr1 not sure if he would be into doing an old car like this

Thanks again for all the advice lads
