my jap impreza speedo show's 280km instead of the usual 180!?

i just bought a 98 jap impreza V4 type-r STI , and the speedo clock read's from 0 up to 280kms, any other jap car's iv seen read up to 180 on the clock's. any idea's why mine is different? :subaru:
 
Dont know hey, I know mine reads to 240km, is it a dark blue background and is the rev clock and speedo the same size? It prob just an after market dial kit :thumbsup:
 
it's genuine subaru clock's ,white backround and STI on the rpm gauge ,with the usual bigger rpm gauge in the middle and the smaller km's clock to the right hand side .... :dunno:
 
just after market clocks..seen a lot fitted to R33 skylines..you shouldnt get anywhere near that but with the type r's gearing
 
I'm sure it was an the options list from Subaru Japan :ponder:

So is likely to be genuine.

Bit of research done. It was an optional upgrade in japan. Earlier cars had a 240kph upgrade. Its a genuine STi part.
 
ah rite ,well at least i know what i have now ,i taught my car might have had a fieu thing's different when i seen the clock's but they were obviously just changed. :subaru:

could well be..might have longer gear ratios? see what revs your at when your doing 120kmph on the motorway post it up and compare with other type r owners..throw some pics up aswell if ya can be nice to see it

that would be interesting to see! i will try that later and see how mine compaires to the other's :thumbsup:
im having a mark on my bumper repaired and il have the car back tomorrow so il put up a fieu pic's :)
