so i had the nct tonite car passed everything apart from them saying they can't see the chassis number behind the brace which i have had on the car every other time it has been in for a test

what gets me more about this is it only passed under 6 months ago in the same test centre with the same tester
what gets me is you can see the chassis number you just need to look behind the brace

knobheads:machinegun:
my old fellas merc failed during the week coz the indicator on the wing mirror had condensation in it,fooking :jack:

Happened me before too
pits a fookin joke
I took it of and went back
got a different tester and even he said it was ott and they where having hassle with said tester
and there's the main problem with NCT
the inconsistencies of it :jack:

Did you not ask to speak to a supervisor?

I'd argue that and point it out!
I've called their bluff a few times.

Last time I did it was after rebuilding the whole front end suspension of a customers Audi A4 (alloy arms)
Month later customer tested it and they failed it on front suspension!

I looked like a robbing c@nt after charging him for the work!!
Went up with him for re test with proof of receipt for parts and my VAG tech cert....

No re test, fee and cert printed in minutes!

Fcukin ****s..

Had a car in for a service at Opel earlier this week. Woman failed NCT and brought the car up to our garage. We did work on the brakes and bushings.

She went to NCT for re-test and she failed again. Mechanic had to go to the centre with her to verify his work.

I got the tech to come out and show me what the issue was and when I pointed to the chassis number he said yes that one I can see the full number because of the brace

Which I said if you open you eyes you will see it and how come it was passed last time the way it is now

I took my brace off for last one.

And guess what

Failed for missing suspension parts.

Put it back on and brought to local test centre and passed.

Only a money making racket. Cert only valid on day of test.

on my old legacy the rear arb bushes were shot dead. I order them but they didn't arrived on time for the test, so knowing I will fail on them I took an executive decision and removed the whole bar...and guess what... I pass :O

Had similar experience myself just few weeks ago.
So all went with flying colours except bonnet would not close as lock for stuck in open position, Failed dangerously and apparently he could call guards in if he saw me driving away. Grand. 5 min with brush and wd40 - sorted.
Bringing for retest, other guy while checking spots worn clutch pedal rubber and fails me on that...
