NCT done! Needs to be retested!

Put the STi through the NCT yesterday!

I didn't know wheather it would go through it alright as it has the prodrive sports cat and thats it!

I watched her from the waiting room window like an expectent father as she went through all the tests! I noticed that the back right break light had stopped working but wasn't to concerned about that! :dunno:

As the lad that worked on her approached me I asked if it was good or bad news and he said it was bad! My heart sank! The emmissions, but no it wasn't it was that back break light and he said that one of the springs on the left rear shock was over hanging! I have a retest on the 3rd of june! €27 :eek:mg:


I replaced the Bulb on the way home and I jacked the car to get a look at the spring! I grabbed it and Pushed it into place with a bit of a turn! He could have pushed it back in for gods sake! A well it's all fixed now and all it will be retested on is these two things so she has passed just have to pay more money, take another day off work and wait until the 3rd of june for the cert!

Its great when your car passes alrite, the Mrs, starlet failed because it didnt have "Atha Cliath" on the back number plate. Mental stuff!!!!!!
I guess some times if you give a man a bit of authory it goes right to there head. :shoot: :shoot:

Mine is on the 4th! Crapping myself at this stage! Coming from work the other day and a stone bounced up and chipped the windscreen. Hopefully its within the limit or i'll have to relace it!

They tell you its free! But you get nothing for free! My mam had hers replaced and when her renewal came in it was taken from her ncb!!
 
i thought it didnt affect your ncb...

i'll have to check that out. not paying extra for windscreen cover if its useless
 
Hi Eric, excuse my ignorance but why do you have to pay more money? When I had my previous forester tested one of the tyres was worn on the inside which I hadnt noticed, they told me just bring it in when I get the tyre changed & they will give me my pass cert. This they did 2 days later
 
Because it has to be put through a part of the test again ie. "up on the ramp for inspection!"

It is not just a have a look and see thing!

Thats why I think!

I'd say if the lad could have done something he would have as He drives an Impreza himself and was asking about the club, said he might Join!
 
If the fault is just on inspection the retest is free with the first month. If it has to use any of the mechanical stuff yo have to pay! :thumbsup:

Forgot to mension the hand break pulls up to far needs to be tightened to! Dave do you know how to do this! Is it an easy job! Could i do it myself?
