Heard about the cars older than 10 years needing to be tested each year,
there was some expert on 102 earlier saying there was no reason for it,
he said we've a better system here than the uk have and we are inline
with the european standards, imo its just another way to bend us over
and take our money, at the end of the day if your car is certified safe
then there should be no differance with old or new cars
on when they need testing
the mother took my fathers car today for test...
it failed on the cv boot insecure....
i took the wheel off and saw that it was ok so i drove it back in this evening....
without doing anything to the car it passed...
now fair enough it was a free visual check but i had to drive it to nenagh as thats where he booked it in..
but it was a 45 min drive each way and waiting 20 mins in test centre for someone to come out and check it.....
