NCT Question

Have my test next Wednesday. When i bought my car there was a new tyre put on front passenger side. Was Only on 2 days. So the front 2 dont match. Its a Federal tyre. I thought both fronts had to match so went looking for New Federal tyre to match it up but no luck finding one. Was told by one of the tyre lads that the makes dont have to match as long as the size is the same and the thread pattern is similar. Is this true? Checked the NCT site but doesnt give too much info on it.

At a guess i'd say you'd be grand, once the tyre is in good condition, same size good depth, they really only give the a quick look over.

as long as the thread pattern is pretty alike
i've had customers who have failed for two different tyres on the same axle so to be 100%,tou should get the two matching..
