New radio no reception

Sunday Drivers
hi all
i just put the new radio into the car and there's no reception off any station. the scoobs a hawkeye so i know the aerial runs through the back window which is tinted but this didn't effect the radio i have just removed. a mate tested it with and external aerial and it worked fine but when i reconnected it to the car there's nothing but static.
i have a signal filter connected to the aerial an the new radio and there's still no joy.
any advice on how to fix/help with this would be appreciated

just asking. I changed my radio the other day. Even though the stations were previously tuned in i had to retun it

had a simular problem on my Hawk , after much head scratching and double checking i discoved my aerial adapter needed to be push together tighter than i had done , sounds simple but try it

will def give that a go tomorrow.
just gave up in frustration today.

Yeah a few radios need the antenna at the back of the radio to be pushed in a lot. And the previous radio stations were being picked up? Because then you may rule out a loose connection or faulty antenna. Hope you get it sorted soon!

I can't find my antenna connection in the back of my radio at all So I know how crap it is not having stations :wall: I will run a new one through the car soon

was a pioneer head unit which proved difficult for me

had another go today and wired up the aerial booster i got in halfords.
after a lot of swearing and some cuts and blisters :angry1: :angry1:
still no joy, have to burn up a load of cd's now
if anyone can recc a place in cork to have a look it would help loads

the reception in my car is perfect with no booster , i reckon maybe your over complicating the job , try without the booster , also did you get the correct antenna adaptor if needed

Works with the old radio? So can't be the antenna can it?

Process of elimination says the new radio is bogey.

The old radio was a jvc. I tried putting an alpine unit in it last summer and it wouldn't tune in either but when the jvc went back in it was fine.
New radio worked fine with the bodged external aerial but can't be driving around with one hand out the window holding an aerial?

there is a power wire that must go from the radio to the ariel on the back window find this wire on the wireing loom on the car where it fitted youre old radio i think its brown but not too sure and send power the the antenna othetwise wou will not get reciption. a lot of iso connectors are missing the pin to send power to the ariel in subarus found this out the hard way myself. hope this helps

I have this done already iv spliced the booster power supply into the 12v power supply to the radio an still no luck
