I'd second the panasonic viera led smart tv.
I've a 47inch one and it has a 5 year warranty with it.
Great to use and the picture quality is amazing.

47 inch might be a bit too big for where it needs to go. i dont see a 47 inch Panasonic for under 800 anywhere anyway! Sure ill probably throw an xbox controller through it before it dies of a manufacturing fault and thats where your home insurance accidental cover comes in. My Samsung is 5 years old and still going strong any tv's sold i Europe are covered by a two year manufacturers warranty anyway so thats fine for me

Got a nice 42" led LG just after xmas in Harvey Norman's for a tad over 650

Great tv.... A rating power consumption
Fantastic picture

bit different path but why not trying a projector
for 800 you can have fairly good one even 3d if
you want. and the good part is that it could be 40'' but also could be 120'' :D
I was part of ''the bigger tv race'' but since I switch to projector, I don't want to see tv ever in my life.

i can stick that out in the field beside me and rent out to the neighbours!

This seems to be the best value i can see, think ill stay away from LG after what some guys in work were saying about the reliability of them

I've had LG tv's for the past 5 years and never a problem, they actually make a lot of components for other manufactures...mostly the screens, Sony are one of their customers for example....but Sony TV's are typically 25-30% dearer
Samsung and LG make the majority of all screens for other electronic brands... that's what they amount to "brands"

Ordered 46" Samsung one yesterday at 12pm from Pixmania, got it delivered to me today in work by 11:30, now thats quick! Ill have great fun setting it up tonight and having a few beers watching something in 3D!
