Octane Booster

Anyone out there know the correct amount of octane booster {silkolene pro boost} to add to a full tank of petrol? :049: :dontknow:

be prob better using nf or lucas octane booster mate, they are tried and tested and most lads here wont use anything else but them, few traders on site supply them.

Maybe better to not use that pro-boost stuff fella....see if you can find lucas,or nf,much better stuff and recommended...

Has there been problems with fuchs silkolene pro boost?
I know a few lads from the dark side and they swear by it :dontknow:

No test on here as far as i know....but defo been lots of tests with lucas.nf...i think the octane rating for that stuff ain't that high in comparison...

silkolene pro boost doesnt work for example (increase octane rating) your only wasting your money buying silkolene pro boost. it would knock you out with the smell off it

You got me worried now, does anyone know if its safe to use
[/quote]

Dont worry  as scoobyke said get nf or lucas

Exactly. I got free bottle of Silkolene when I bought my car... I put the whole bottle per tank and knocklink was flashing like a Christmas Tree .. while half bottle of Lucas worked like a dream!

As far as I have read,
NF is the only one of have ever seen test results prooving octane imporvements,
and a lot of lads use lucas with good results,
I have never seen good results from Pro boost!
NF is my personal preferance! I use 100ml per tank of E5, which is just shy of 2 ron prooven, so hopefully around 101ron
Check out the traders section for the best prices!
Dan

Only ever heard of that pro boost crap being recommended by people that dont know what they are talkin about.....
They will swear by it without ever having used it....... "Pro Boost is the best stuff i ever put in a car, Makes it stupid fast and only put 1 cap full into a full tank of petrol" Said the fella wantin to race a 2ltr turbo WRX wagon in a Renault Clio...........
It wont do your engine any harm to use it..... but it wont do you any good either.....

Get the tried and tested stuff and keep your engine in top order..... :subaru:

its just a money racket, three years never used any off them never a problem, car runs like a dream, more like pi**in your money down the drain.

Right here's some truth on the whole topic and YES we did test them.

When mapping cars with AndyF one member had put a Can and a Half of pro boost in and it had no effect
on the RON of the petrol , this was done over the space of aprox 30/40mins .

I was up next for mapping and had my usual supply of NF in the boot , gave the lad a bottle........ and half was added to the tank.
They went back out and very soon AndyF notice an increase in the RON , car was mapped for same and both driver and Andy where very happy.

I wasn't able to get my car mapped that day (issue with ECU) , so bought an Apexi ECU and when getting mapped next time i used LUCAS.
Again it was AndyF who mapped the car . We used a half bottle of LUCAS and everything went fine , i was very happy with result, so was Andy

I asked which did he prefer LUCAS or NF ..................he said NF , it's what he uses himself and it's tried and tested, that said he found no fault with LUCAS.

I asked him what sort of RON increase it was giving ? he said "while he couldn't give an exact figure , it was giving the same results as Shell Optimax in the UK
which is 98RON.

After that i always used LUCAS thanks to Damo it was half the price of NF if ya bought in bulk

I think NF has come down in price now though

Yeah I think it was Dave Frawly who had the Pro Boost back then. Did nothing. NF and Lucas always did the trick.

Yeah as you say Niall Performance Subaru up North and Sti Tuning where / are charging €22.50 PER BOTTLE of NF until Ciaran in ASD got the price down to €13.50 per bottle :shock2:
