One for the Techies...laptop RAM

I'm looking to upgrade from 1GB to 2GB Ram. My laptop takes DDR2 SDRAM.

If I buy a new 2GB upgrade will the spec have to match exactly? i.e. my one runs at PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM specifications. Will the new one also have to be PC2 4200 or will PC2 5300 do?

If PC2 5300 doesn't work does anyone know where to find 2GB @ PC2 4200? I've tried www.komplett.ie but they only have 1GB PC2 4200.

It all depends on the board in your laptop, some boards will run PC25300 or PC24200 and others won't. Check out the site below, that will tell you what RAM your board will work with.

I bought RAM for my Mac off those crucial guys. Great to deal with

you can mix them, but it will run at the lower speed
