Performance CAT for B4

Hey lads,

I need to get some advise regarding airflow on my Legacy B4. It is stock at the moment but I'm hoping to do some mods and get some decent performance gain. I will be going for a remap within the next few week's to make it all work together safely. I want to start with a HKS silent hi power exhaust (dont want it too loud) :).

With all this talking about NCT becoming a yearly thing i'm going to go with a Performance cat to work with the HKS rather then remove it. So i done some reading up and heard good things about the TSL thunder cat. I emailed TSL but was told that they haven't tried it on the Leagacy B4 and they dont think it will fit,as although it has the same flange the pipe is a different shape. Can anyone confirm this is the case??? and if this is so can maybe recommend a good performance cat that will fit the B4 & work with the HKS?.

In regards the CAT for the NCT, you can have a straight thru centre section and back-box and the car should still pass the NCT as there is a cat on your primary downpipe

hmm would it make much difference with just centre section performance and noise wise, i don't want something roaring down the road, tis loud enough

Good Silencers aren't a big restriction,
Cats are! (Cats should only be kept as pets)
I have a 3" miltek de-cat 3 silencer system, Silencer in the downpipe, center and back box,
I'll just put my origional system back on before the nct!

ah thinkin about decats, but wit having to take them out for nct, and ncts are every yr for cars over 10yrs old, so be too annoying every yr. plus tis quick enough. prob dump the money on 4 pot brakes!
:multijump:

sorry for hi-jacking ..about de-cat...

I have the Prodrive pack on my car.. it has the cat-back.. is that the same as the de-cat?
cos he gave me the orginal parts what looks like the a centre bit not sure what it is LOL
could also ring the place that fitted the PPP

going off this page... http://www.subaru-impreza.org/forum/modifications-tips-tricks/50765-mid-decat-section-querie.html

he gave with the car the orignal.... Resonator (small wide pipe) and the rear catalytic convertor (inside is all the sqaure boxes stuff)

iI guess when it was all done right by Subaru when the PPP was done, shouldnt be an issue with the nct.. as its went through already with it, thats what the garage said anyways..
i just dont know did it go throught with the same setup as of now.

Cat back, means that they leave the standard Cat'd downpipe on, and fit a new center section and back box!
So she still has a cat, and will pass NCT
