hi lads just wondering does anyone know if there is a pollen filter in these pugs?im having a weird problem wer i taught the sun roof was leaking but i refitted the seal and i sealed it up d fcuk to make sure if it was that that it stop leaking but after leaving the car for a few days over the xmas with out driving the inside of the windscreen was dripping wet as was the sunroof and glass.so i assume its dripping down and damping the seats and wetting the carpet in the back now im not sure if theres gromet missing or drain plug underneath ill check when i get a chance, but im thinking its the condensation thats causing it and if theres a pollen filter that maybe its blocked and changing that will sort it out,

failing that i may get a headliner out of one with no sunroof that will stop the dripping and damp seat and wet carpet and will have to put up with wet windows ect till she warms up :hammerhead:
any help welcome lads

check for a missing gromet in the floor well Alan , had a 106 years ago and one of the little black gromets in the foot well was damaged so when driving on wet roads the carpet was soaking up water like a mad thing , sealed it with silicone at the time and dried out the car and problem went away , check the boot also for gaps in the seal around the boot door itself , can let water in 2 if not tight

thanks tommy, where they located can u remember and is there a few?the boot is bone dry its just the cabin.the fact i havent driven it in the rain and had been parked up over the xmas is swaying me away from a gromet but i check to rule it outit could be drawing moisture into the car i suppose

strange one so mate i remember the carpet was sapping wet in mine from the damaged gromet , wonder if you put a dehumidifier into her for a few hours would it get the moisture out of the car , sun roof may have been the problem but moisture from it leaking may be trapped in the fabric

checked all the the underside just there and from what i can see all the gromets are in place and intact, boot seal is ok no sign of leak under the bonnet along under the windscreen seems ok.i hoovered out all the water when i got it and sealed up the sunroof and after been sitting there since the 25th till yesterday.the carpet in the back only is a tad damp/wet but if ya ran ur hand accross the sunroof its dripping wet so im thinking it coming down off that and wetting the carpet and seats i left the 2 front seats folding and looks like water marks from the drips

@midlandbe5 heater is fine heating up no probs no signs of leaks no temp issues with car it self either if leaking it b drawing air causing temp issues

any one know if theres a pollen filter in them?

They leak in the light through the aerial!!! And also in through the front passenger side at the bottom of windscreen at passenger side if u open the bonnet and look at end of windscreen theirs a big empty space there that can get the drain plug blocked and then leaks into the car somehow!!!! And also chek the sunroof drain pipes I've had them leak in cos their blocked aswell!!!!!ibe had 4 106gtis and few xsi aswell so I've had just about every leak they can have

@m3 mick ive sealed up the sunroof hopefully that rules that out, i will silacone the aerial and check under the bonnet again thanks

ok well there appears to be a leak from the front alright,i pulled back the carpet and sound deading and it sapping wet it must be coming in and running to the back hence why the carpets in front been dryish,

@m3 mick ive looked under the bonnet and there is a hole (drain hole) that just goes to the outside can see wet patch cant see were it would be getting in any ideas??

Passenger front footwell or drivers!! Drivers side can leak in around the steering coloum that's quite rare though!! Passo side take the glove box out and ull be able to see a lot more its usually just a grommet or something small like that!!! Usually I remove the glove box and get some one to hold a garden hose into the engine bay at the bulkead while I look to see where it's coming from!!!

Only read ur posts properly now!! If its wet around the sunroof it's deffo coming in the sunroof or Ariel!!! Take down the int light unit and unbolt the Ariel and put sealer onto the Ariel before refitting it!! That's foxed all my 106 roof leaks

ive sealed it up mick but theres heavy condensationon under the roof liner and across the sunroof is it possable that it would be running down the front pillars and soaking the carpet

Only one of mine got bad enough to wet the carpet from the aerial did ya stick a hose to the bulkhead yet to try that...

Re: peugeot 106**sorted**

well after lot of silacone i no longer have sapping wet windows and dripping sun roof the aerial leaking seemed to be the culprit and car drying out nicely cheers mick
