I've viewed the only one for sale in Ireland and it's not great!

Graham what year is that the a mate of mine selling one it's a 07 with small mileage it belongs to murphy's truck centre which isn't too far away real nice car and on donedeal
 
Great little car, my little brother had one for 2 years and then the seller bought it back! Lost nothing on it! Great cars

Needed tyres.
Massive negative camber on front right.
Abs light was on.possible abs pump.never told me this on phone.
Rear wheel bearing screaming it's head off at 20mph!
Pedal box on the way out, clutch sh1te due to this.
Selector for 1st/3rd fcuked, pot luck selecting 1st kept getting 3rd!
Rear door panels pealing.
Alloys in bits.told me one was bad rest were great.

None of this would bother me but being told over three phone calls that it was mint and arriving over to him with euro notes, he starts springing all the lies on me!!
Then won't move off 2k price.
Working on them for over 15years I pity the poor Cnut who buys that for 2k, it will break them.

Thats seriously annoying when people waste your time alright saw a few "mint"(badly resprayed) and "regularly serviced" (no oil on dipstick) favorite "no expense spared" (running cheapo tires)

Hi sorry to bring up and old thread but was that a silver 5 door gti you went to look at by any chance ? Think I may have been the unfortunite who bought it :icon_sad:

A young lad called Paul I think was selling it in balbriggan.
Could of taken it for 1700 but it was no where near as he described!

Needed lots of money spent on it!!
I saw it on donedeal with fresh Nct being sold by a girl for silly money recently.

Did you buy it? What issues are wrong with it now?
 
Yeah i bought it..
speedo was broken when i bought it and when i went to get it sorted it turned out they had turned off the abs light.
so the abs light is on, and its not heating up properly, fairly sure the pedal box is on its way out aswell.. disaster !
 
Oh sh*t, sorry to hear that.

That car was in a bad state when I drove it!
Dirty fucker took the bulb out for the abs light! I reckon that needed a new pump which was mad money.

Needed a rear wheel bearing.
Tyres were needed.
Camber on front right was out.
Selector was not right changing gear.
Pedal box was cracked, in turn needed clutch and cable too.

Sounds they may have damaged the dash panel removing the abs light, if speedo and temp gauge not operating.

Were any of these problems above sorted when you got it?
