Problem with wipers

So after purchasing the b4, on the way home i noticed the wipers where off abit. Them seem to be over shooting the windscreen, but then sometimes they will stop at the normal position. What would be the problem. Wipers are on right so, just a wee problem..
 
Its from the heavy snow we had, i think something just needs to be tightened behind the black plastic at front of the windscreen where the wiper mechanisms are.
 
They where probably taken off at some point and put back on the wrong spline. If they don't sit right in the off position.. they'll over shoot outside the window. Try just taking them off and when in the off position and moving on the spline lower towards the skuttle panel!
 
I think with the snow they skipped a spline or something, most times they stop a little shy of the finish point, but at motorway speed they finish a little further up helped by the wind
I never took them off, thats why i never took them off to fix them! Its only minor so i just put up with it!
