Racing in the Park

Does anyone know if you need a full racing licence to race in the park. ie. 6 signatures on your licence job?

My uncle is restoring a capri at the minute, he used to race them, and is looking to launch it again at the park when it comes around, but not sure if he needs the 6 signatures from 1.6 to move onto 3 litre as he lost his old licence and cannot renew. does anyone have any knowledge on this?

Think he'll need to get 6 signatures and upgrade to run a 3L in the Park, National B is restricted to 2L and I don't think they let novice drivers run in the park, definitely remember people running in 2 or 3 classes on the day to get signatures for the park in years gone by. (could be wrong on this).

There is one ray of light, quote from the 2009 Yearbook:

"8.4 LICENCES HELD PRIOR TO 1986.
Any person who last held a competition licence
prior to 1986 may be issued with a “National A”
grade licence, on condition that they can provide
independent confirmation, by way of programme,
results, newspaper, video or photograph, that they
competed in the branch of the sport to which their
application refers. Otherwise, they will be issued
with the appropriate First Time Licence in
accordance with Article 6.8 above."
[Motorsport Ireland Yearbook 2009, Appendix 1, Article 8.4]

If he needs to start from scratch he may need to do the Introduction to Motorsport course in Mondello, then it's only 5 signatures to upgrade.
