Rant about NCT Centres

So I rang to book the impreza in for the NCT and the woman informed me that they have no dates until at least october in Waterford
So i rang back again asking for kilkenny and Youghal and its the exact same

So looks like the car will be lying up for another while.

My friend had the same problem with them the other day , send them a strong worded email and the next day she recieves an email back going that they had fit her in this time next week.

So im hoping that if i do the same, Ill have some luck in getting an early Test.

I needed a little rant to get the anger out of my system.

Anyone else get crazy waiting times like that ? Country and its system is a Joke!!
 
Think if you have to wait more than4-6 weeks test is free.NCT WONT TELL YOU THIS BUT IS FACT.

Dont know what the story with garda is.If you get confirmation of test this may do but ring local station ask for traffic seargent and see what he says

Yup well my friend didnt get it for free just got it re-scheduled but ive heard of this alright.
But i just think the wait is ridiculious!

I dont think i wanna chance driving the car as there has been no tax or nct on her since 2008. Wouldnt be worth the hassle i reckon
 
Dont need nct to tax

Get form stamped in garda station stating was off road. Wait till next tuesday and save you more money.

Recon if your not out acting the maggot and have taxed and insured and letter re nct booking garda wont mind.As before check when getting form stamped

@Gretts, Im useless, i know that form is diff to the standard one you get, Y is soo much info needed
I act dont know some of the info there looking for. I thrown out the tax disc so dont even know the exact date
 
local tax office could give you the date the last tax expired , or maybe the guards would be able to look it up on pulse system ?
as for nct problems join the crew nearly everyone on here has had some grief over nct , my car is due its first one in january and am dreading the thoughts
 
The form is giving me a headache now....... It has me so confused!!! Anyone around waterford want to fill it out for me please!

Car failed the nct back in november b4 i bought it, hopefully the boys now will do an ok job and get her passed.

Went online this morning, Fonthill NCT centre, saw a space for 8:55am tomorrow, car booked in! Happy days,
Now to see if i get an incompetent moron, car should pass but sad thing is you never know with this crowd!

Went back online to book her car in 2mins later, same place, no space until end of July!!! Crazy fools!
 
All centres are open on sundays, but they dont tell u that.. ask for a sunday see what happens. but you have to ring them as website locks out sundays
 
When i rang last November i was offered 4 different cancellation slots for the following week.I even got it tested 3 months early. :thumbsup: Try Little Island Cork centre.Only about 25 miles from Youghal.
 
my car has never been NCT'd and once i have an appointment letter the cops say nothing. :hjtwofinger:

they only have to provide an appointment within the 4 weeks but the appointment could be for 11 months time. so unless you ask for an appointment and dont get one for 5weeks then it wont be free. :thumbsup:
 
I work for the company that sends out the confirmation letters for the NCT when it was first annouced bout getting points if you dont have one we were sending out 15000 a day for bout 2 weeks i did 5000 of them today and and thats what were sending out most days there are huge delays as they have never caught up and switching to applus from sgs hasnt helped i noticed several today when the test was happening on the 30th of august but once you have the appointment confirmation letter the guards should leave you alone

:lol: :lol: if i could i would but they only send us the data to print and post so they wouldnt have any record of it if i just printed you a letter unfortunately, i had to wait 3 months for my own one last year most people ask me that when they find out what i do even more think i work for the post office :icon_grin:
 
God loves a tryer . Just gonna pull the same thing my friend did and hope I get it in a week she does! I taught the back log was gone, considering before Xmas I had no probles trying to get one but couldn't take it cause d car wasn't ready!
 
it was pretty much gone the beginning of the year but i think during the handover from sgs they fell behind again plus the fact people that wouldnt be to fussed before now know they have to do it and the new rules are making a lot more fails so they have even less slots there are some places that the list isnt to bad they are giving out dates for next week cant remember where though i did 27000 tv license reminder letters after the NCT so my memory is a bit blurred
 
Be just my luck when I actually need the nct asap!! I even tried Kilkenny and yoghal and dey were givig me the same waitings times!! Fingers crossed a cancellation comes in soon. Feck ya, ya better not have sent a tv license reminder to mine or I'll hunt ya lol
 
Hopefully you'll get lucky i'll keep an eye out in tomorrows batch for you and see where isnt to bad for a delay, im afraid if yours runs out this month a letter will be going in the post to you on the 3rd ive sent several to myself when mine ran out still havent renewed though :multijump:
