I'm going about removing all the random defi wiring from the wrx as it came with a defi controller and sensors but no gauges, and I've no intention of spending 600 quid on defi gauges. I've traced all the wiring inside which has 3 wires running into the engine bay through the firewall which I assume is the boost, oil pressure and oil temp sensor signal wires. There is a small (boost?) signal box with a single wire going in along with a vacuum line. I'm assuming this can be safely removed without any issue?
The thing I'm worried about is the oil pressure and (temp) sensor. I've read the stock oil pressure sensor throws the light at around 5psi at which point it's too late anyway. Is that true? This would be the sensor under the alternator? Can I remove and plug the hole?
There is another sensor at the back just under the turbo/intercooler join. I'm guessing this is taken as oil temp? Again can this be removed and blanked off?
None of these wires run anywhere but to the defi "harness".
