A shame alright - would have been nice to have it close by.

On the other hand could you imagine the hysteria there would have been leading up to it..........1966 and all that!!

Yeah but at least it would be affordable to go to it....plus we could of laughed at the failure on home soil...how sweet would that have been....who is going to trek out to Russia? Russia a violent sh*t hole..half the Irish fans got mugged last time we went out there
 
If it was in England we wouldn't have qualified - we specialise in the distant tournaments!
