saxo rear suspension help

i put the saxo trough the nct last wendsday and it failed on rear bushes. now i had a look under the car and i mimiced what the guy did in the test which was similar to what you do when looking for a bad wheel bearing but i cant find any bushes other than the ones on either end of the shock. has anyone any experience with citroe/peugot as these cars have torsion bar suspension. the nct report is vague at best and i asked him what bushes and he said on the rear lhs. i dont mind if ive to replace the shock as ill have to do the other side and probly a good thing but i dont want to have to take the rear axle apart.

nope not the bearing, i know what that feels like. he has a few things marked with yellow wax, like he didnt know what was causing the play in the wheel so he just marked everything. holding the wheel in the 9 and 3 positions and trying to rock it its dead solid but holding it in the 12 and 6 positions and pushing in on top of the wheel there is a bit of play but hard to tell if its just the shock going up or something else.

back axle bushings would be where the axle connects to the chassis/body of the car i've never done them on a saxo but have done them on a berlingo and its a nasty job parts wise it'll be cheap but the labour i'd say will be expensive get it checked out by someone first i'd look at it but i'm in cork so i'd say u'll find plenty of citroen mechanics closer to home
