Service and New front brakes

:dunno: hey lads looking to get the motor serviced for a big trip to spain next month so got a few queries if ye's can help us out?

car: 2002 subaru wrx sti type uk

Got quote of Carroll and Roche for 350 plus vat (seems resonable) for a 72 month service but 350 plus vat for a new set a front brakes (seems a bit much)? anyone think this is ok or bit steep?

or anyone got any places they can recommend for this sorta work in dublin? ps need it done asap

got a quote from castle garage in bray for front and back pads fitted €400 last week

So does the 320 include the front brakes with the service? Sounds ok to me.

just fitted new pads this evening 152 sterling for pads that includes 30 pound shipping and 1 hours labour about 250 euro for the whole lot thats frount and back

fitted front pads myself in
the b4 in under an hour
so it sounds very deer

oh, get ur pads off ebay and get one of the lads here to give it a good service and fit ur new pads. I picked up new disks and mintex extrem pads all round for 400 euro off there.

Check these out! I have them on my car and their great! No problems with them for road driving!

It's the PP430 fo sixty something sterling! Good price at that with the sterling at the moment and you have them in three working days! Very easy to fit to!

Whats involved in the service C&R quoted you?

You could try Dave legacey at STi tuning for the service see if he's cheaper!

I had a look at the 72month/150km service list for a 99-04 legacy the other day and it estimates the work at 3.2 hours + parts. Then as an addition the timing belt/tensioner has to be done which is another 3 hours approx... Do you own the car since new or do you have the full history to see when the timing belt was changed last?

the above price is immpossible for a proper 72month service and certainly does not incl timing belt, tensioner, or possible idler pulleys.........

shes got a full service history from new and has only done 28,000miles but the previous ownner has kept the services on time so its done the cambelt etc last service.

will give these lads a call thanks again lads
