I asked you guys opinion on fitting snow tyres

Size is 225/45/17 and it's for a bmw if that makes any odds
Thanks again

Taking your indicated budget into consideration:

Runflats:
I would look at the Hankook W310, or one of the best buys is the Nokian WR A3.

Normal:
Nankang SV2 activia (These are the ones we have run on the Tuscon for 5 years and although not the best tyre you can get it certainly is one of the better ones you can get on a budget.
Nokian probably are one of the best winter tyre manufactures in the world. Amazing grip and had them on several cars including Volvo V70 AWD and my blobeye WRX. The one listed is again the WR A3 which is their better range (though not top of their range but above their middle... and even their middle would be better than most other makes).
In between these too sits the Avon ICE Touring. Had them too and were good, bit better than the Nankangs to be fair, but not as good as the Nokians. My tyre dealer swears by the Avons and uses them on his own vehicle (but he doesn't do the Nokians hence Avon is best he has from his suppliers short of really dear tyres which really aren't that much better, if at all better)

Things may have changed a bit in the year with new releases, etc, but I ended up getting Goodyear Ultragrip 9's for Niamh's car at the time.

That was after doing a lot of research and reading a lot of tyre reviews. Goodyear Ultragrip 8's were also in the mix along with the Continentals too but to be honest any of the top brands offerings consistently in the top 5 of reviews should be no problem for Irish weather

The Nokian's are very good but in that size you're looking around 125 a corner before fitting.

The Bridgestone Blizzak LM001 is very good aswell and cheaper. A Bridgestone dealer like fast fit would probably be cheapest overall and they normally have them in stock.

TBH if she's going to use them year round and for what little ice and snow she'll see on the school runs etc during winter months I think both the above would be a bit wasted.

The Nankangs above are 86 a corner on oponeo at the moment. Then you have Toyo snowprox, Kumhos and Hancook in the 95-100 range.

Thanks lads I'll look into it
The car slid on her the other day on small roundabout here in lucan it's a rwd so she wants them on asap lol
She had the kids in it ,nasty bit of camber on the roundabout so didn't take much to get it sliding and she was going slow
