im currently looking around for a cheap classic impreza, dont think i will be buying in the republic anyways prices here suck im afraid to say for older cars. saw this manualv limited RA on ebay motors needs a small bit of attention to front other than that looks good. 1500 sterling cheap run around if all is ok :ponder2: has anybody any advice for importing cars from uk...???cheers

U can thank good old VRT for the prices being where they are over here.

Also 97 p to the Euro ul get ur self a great bargin.

i have brought 4 cars from the uk.. main thing to check for is rust in them.. if its a jap import and not in england long then it shouldn't suffer rust.. watch the cars temp gauge as the salt does effect the radiators.. make sure you allow all costs for yourself such as your time going out there, the ferry + vrt and expenses, the best thing at da moment is the exchange rate..

@dagnut, yeah there all not spec'd out like yogi's wagon thats an exception. if all the wagons on carzone had that spec it would be great.

where did you get automatic from? I think you have mistaken the DCCD indicator on the clocks for an automatic gear position indicator.

I have brought in alot of cars from the UK, prices can be alot better even after VRT'ing. You can get the AA to do a full check over for about 300, i would recommend getting this done. They will do a full history check on it aswell. They are very good at spotting any damage or anything that was done. My favourite bit is the drive home :subaru:

lads its a buyers market at the moment if you had the money bengkand is prob the way to go the exchange rate is savage

I reckon if the pound stays as it is we may see a right stink being kicked up by the motor industry about vrt here. Ive benn told today that a new avensis D4D can be bought for approx 14000euro in the north and inc vrt you would have it on the road for 18500approx-by comparison with the same cars list price of 29950 in an ROI toyota dealers. Apparently one main dealers down my way selling a well known french marque has a grand total of 2 orders for 09 cars! I doubt they'll keep quiet about vrt now!

Line up a few cars to lock at so if that one is in bits you have a backup plan!
There are no hidden charges are taxes just VRT and that wont be to bad on a car that age!
