Some Info required on Cruciate Ligament op for dogs.

Im just looking for some info for the missus,
her dalmatian has partially torn a back ligament and she is just wondering has any one had experience with surgery to repair it,
and if so where were you referred to get it done as it is a very specific surgery and what was the end result for the dog.

Hey Nick,

Our rotti did the exact same thing and our vet in Wexford did the op where they put in the equivalent of 100 lb fishing line.
It looked very painful at first and we had to shout at her everytime she tried to take out the stitches.
It took about 8 weeks of initial healing and keeping her on a short lead just to let her out for a wee.
Overall she's doing great. There's a bit of a lump where scar tissue has grown but she seems none the wiser.
