Spare Wheel anyone???

Middle Lane Hogs
Lads I was driving to work the other night and took the slip road on to the m50 coming from town at the toll bridge northbound... Anyway they are doing roadworks there and resurfacing the road. they did not smooth out the road very well  where they are doing so and I hit a "ramp" at 50mph and cracked one of the wheels!!
There was no warning that the road was being resurfaced and i really hit it hard!! I had to go back today and take pics to send to SIAK of the road and the damage it caused. I'll send them on tomorrow. In the mean time I am going to wexford for 3 nights with the better half and doubt I'll have the wheel repaired by then. Has anyone got an old set of wheels lying around or even one 205/40/17 that I could borrow?? Or any suggestions on what to do?
The wheel has 3 cracks in it and I don't even know if its repairable. I might have to claim for four new wheels as my ones are discontinued... :(

Cheers,
Shane.

Oh and it would be great if anyone was near dublin. I've no other mode of transport and don't want to travel too far on the spare.
PM me or call 0857382997 if anyone can help.

Thanks again lads.
Shane.

you'd be doing well to get any claim out of them..the speed limit is 60kmph...its a fcuking disgrace if you ask me place is in sh!te and we just accept it? i know its for an upgrade but they need to work smarter..i came through the toll on firday and they had all 6 lanes closing in on 2 lanes in the sapce of about 50 meters caused mayhem

Thanks Chara555 and Legy C!!

Yea I know its 60k. I actually think I was doin 70k but couldn't be sure. I'll wait and see what they say. Not sure weather or not the wheel can be fixed yet. Tyre is defo gone. I'll let ya's know what comes of it.
In the mean time if anyone can help me out it would be much appriciated!!

years ago i hit a pothole on the old airport road, sisk were doing the repair work and i ended up getting a new wheel ad tyre off them, no questions asked, i just sent them pics of the pothole and the damaged wheel, that was it, mind you it did take a while to get the whole process, the longest thing for me was getting the right person to talk to, as they were sdaying it was Dublin Corporation at first, and the corpo were saying dublin city council, as there were 2 jobs going on beside each other, but as i said, when i got in touch with the right people, they were fast enough at sorting it out for me

best of luck

Thats good to hear smokey. The only thing is my wheels are discontinued...
I was on to a garage and they said when that is the case ya have to claim for 4 wheels...
I wonder what SIAK will say to that...

i have 4 of them in my shed only 15's though take them away if you like only taking up room!! only about 5k on the tyres there perfect!

I've 16" Classic STi wheels there if yo need a loan of them! I'm in Dublin! If you still need them give me a ring on 0862228151  :subaru:

i got one of mine repaired in a place in bray,i cant remember the place name but will find out.they were reasonable enough too

they welded up the crack on the inside of the wheel and resprayed the weld the same colour as the wheel

Probably Collins Engineering, I remember somebody posting details of that place before, a friend or family member owned it I think?

Yep Collins Engineering, great place

There's also a place down in Waterford i think, that can repair nearly anything, it's something like www.tyrefix.ie they have adverts on the tv at the moment, i went on the site and had a look at some of the repairs they did, amazing work, repairing cracks and also chunks

Scooby stu, thanks for the offer but I just remembered that the 15's won't fit my car. I got sorted anyway. Thanks again!!

I can't pm at the moment...
