special tool

I would like to ask You for any advice , idea how to make a tool for cutting aeroboard.

My other half Has a business with cakes and She makes dummy cakes for wedding fairs, shows etc... The best material for these dummy cakes is the aeroboard or however is this insulation board called. She wants to do some special sculpted cakes but no way to do it with knives. I seen somewhere years ago a guy doing it with a tool (homemade) it was like a small saw but instead of a blade there was a hot wire.
How could I make something like that?

You could try scalpels and windscreen removal wire

I'd say they would do perfectly well

You can buy a hot wire cutter we had hand held ones in my last job for cutting plastic Ill try get the name for you.
