Starting Rallycar project, Have a few questions.

Ok I hope to get started on a impreza rallycar (GC8) project in the coming month or so. I have a few questions that ye might be able to help me out on.

1. Are all Impreza shells the same?? Ie. If I got a 1.6 impreza shell can I fit the Sti drivetrain and to it after the shell is prepped? ( I know the likes of the lightweight shells are different Im just on about the general impreza shell)
2. I'll be fitting a hydraulic handbrake to the car and Im going to need a way of dis-engaging the drive to the rear wheels when the handbrake is pulled. Can I just wire in a circuit to the fuse that turns off the 4wd to a microswitch on the handbrake? Or is there an easier way of doing this?
3. Anyone got one of the rallybuild manuals for the old Group N GC8 impreza or know much about strenghtening the shell? I will be going for a full weld in custom cages rollcage so this should tighten up the shell a good bit.
4. What are the best driveshafts to use on the STI drivetrain?
5. Is there any subaru breakers who sell shells? Ideally Id love a 2dr but I know these have a premium attached to them so a 4 dr will do.

Any other words of wisdom??

to Answer question 2 I can't see how this is going to work, the diff is controlling the torque to the rear...I'd imagine you need some very advanced technology for that considering the budget your on

i would advise using a dccd box as this will do this anyway, either a 5 or 6 speed dccd will do it

ya it does in any of the unlock positions

I dont really undrestand what you mean by disengaging the rear wheels???? Clutch in and up with the stick, point her where you want and Power on

duffmans right, when you lift the handbrake on a dccd it disengages the centre diff.
