Still hesitating at 3000 RPM

Hi guys

I replaced the split turbo inlet pipe which I thought was causing the issue - but it seems not resolved it completely.

only when the engine is HOT - there is slight hesitation at 3k rpm, also when cruising on motorway around steady 3-4k rpm you can feel like the car is slowing down and pulling away again in regular intervals.
No problems whatsoever on boost.

I've already replaced the spark plugs, checked all the connections on the piping (had the manifold out recently so basically all the pipework has been reconnected) and issue is still there. :ponder2:

As I said only when hot and off the boost, at exactly 3000 rpm.

Any ideas?

Simon from JGM was checking the MAF during last mapping time and it was giving positive readings.. also I don't think it would make a difference on cold or hot engine? - on Cold its running smooth.

No I haven't actually checked...

what resistance values should these have?

Sounds like the problem I was having recently. I brought it to the garage and they did an ECU reset and upgrade, problem sorted.
I had already replaced the spark plugs and checked MAF etc.

Re: Still hesitating at 3000 RPM (solved)

just to update...

Problem solved

MAF.

Even it if it was acting good according to diagnostics... I gave it a good clean using PCB cleaner... and the problem's gone. Going to order a new MAF anyway...

They don't say to go MAF-Less ECU without a reason!... Saving for SimTek now  :icon_biggrin:

Maf's are a pain in the hole I do one every year on the track day last year and this year again don't know what the crack is.

Glad to hear you got it sorted.

To be honest in your MY car I would rather go for a new sensor than cleaning the old one. They're very fragile in those years.
Or at least - I would really make sure about readings, if it's not lying.

Anyway - new my99/00 maf-sensor is MUCH cheaper than engine rebuild.
