The Levorg STI will likely resemble the Levorg S concept from the 2015 Tokyo Auto Salon.
Ever since the last generation Subaru WRX wagon was discontinued in 2014, Subaru fans have pleaded and cried for the Japanese automaker to bring another performance-oriented wagon over. What you see here is indeed a performance-oriented wagon, but it isn't coming to America.
Sorry American Subaru fanboys.Anyways, in a video by Subaru which was spotted by Carscoops on Thursday, the company spilled the beans on the upcoming release of its new performance wagon. In that video, Subaru said that a sporty STI model of its Levorg wagon will go into production, but it'll only be on sale in Japan.
Though nothing official has been said, it's expected that the Levorg STI will come with a similar turbocharged four-cylinder engine as what's currently in the Japanese WRX STI sedan, so expect around 300 horsepower. It's also likely that the car will have a stiffer sport-tuned suspension setup and performance tires. And of course, all-wheel-drive, because Subaru.Currently, the non-STI Levorg wagon is on sale in Europe as well as Japan.
The first sign of a high-performance Levorg was seen at the Tokyo Auto Salon in January 2015 where Subaru had a Levorg S Concept on display. The Levorg STI is expected to go into production Summer 2016.
