Hi,

Hope this is the right forum.

Just wondering if anyone knows the average going price for a 1998 Subaru Impreza 2000 Turbo (Irish), its a 4 door, its red and has about 75000 miles on the clock? I was looking at one over the weekend and it sounded a bit cheap, but from what I checked on the car it is perfect.

I can't seem to find any of that model on Carzone, they all seem to be jap.

Thanks

Regards,
Stephen

Hi,

Thanks, I was looking under Dublin on Carzone so didn't see that Kerry car.

Thanks again

Regards,
Stephen

Nothin wrong with a car from Kerry... Fair enough the driver might be a bit ooh aargh but the car should be fine.

Don't limit yourself to Dublin at all. Plenty of nice Subaru's around the country.

There are a few nice ones on this site for sale too. A fella called Huzzy has a gem of a black type R for sale on the site. Great money too. (I'm not related, or getting commision, just think it's a beautifull car)

Thanks mate, I'm in no Rush so I'm going to shop around a bit. I test drove the 2000 and loved it, very nice ride. I'm looking into a WRX STI coupe as well, but I've been sold the jap's tend to blow up lol

They only let go, because the idiots that bring them over don't map them for our fuel.

We have 95 ron petrol (Maxol hav the new E5 99.2 ron) where the Japanese have 100+ ron fuel and are set up for that.

Nothing wrong with going the Japanese route at all...

Speak to DaveLegacy or Renno555 on here about mapping. They get the best in Europe to come over and map cars here. Sound fellas to deal with too.

Alrite hiwd i've had 2 jap sti impreza's as long as u get them profesionally remaped for fuel etc. when starting from cold let them warm up let them tick over for a minute or two before switching off and keep them serviced and well maintained you should'nt have any trouble, i know one or two chaps that have blown turbos and stuff but they give them hardship as in trying to spin wheels or do rings and also driving the crap out of them when they are cold.

Thanks :)

I was thinking about getting one in from the UK as well. People over there tend to take better care of their cars, and most come with a full service history. So at least I'll know it had a decent past...

well. If i were you i would buy a jap import yhey are way more powerful than the english ones. From september 96 all jap wrx cars have 280bhp out of factory english ones have only 220bhp because the jap ones have bigger turbos, bigger intercooler and are mapped different.

As above - 240/250 at a max for import wrx - and thats running on 101ron fuel.
Into STi territory at 280bhp

I might be mistaken but have a look at bthe site below. I recently imported a 96 wrx and it is considerably faster than my friends 02 english wrx.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/subaru_impreza_wrx sorry your going to have to type that in yourselves i don't know how else to do it. I found the site good for impreza specs give it a look

Yeah jap sti are bout 280bhp in japland...but once they come over ere and on our fuel...that figure drops greatly...
as for jap v uk cars...well the uk cars are much more reliable, and dont need re-mapping...
