Hi all,

I got my car back after a good full service by Mr Dave Legacy, who I now know operates under the name of “STI Tuning”.

Dave did all fluids, filters, plugs, gave the car a once over and gave her back to me later the same day. The difference in the drive after the service was unreal. Much quieter on start up and while driving, and noticeably smoother. Delighted with the service provided by STI Tuning and more than happy with my purchase. A lot of car for not a lot of cash!

Thanks again for all the tips and PMs on Alarms, Stereo’s and Wheels, the advice is much appreciated.

It turns out that Dave @ STI also looks after the electronics side of things so I going to get my Alarm and Radio done through STI Tuning also.

I got a deal on a set of 16” rims and tyres through the UK from “Alloy Wheels.com” and am awaiting delivery, hopefully this morning. I can’t wait to see them on the car.

Typical me (or typical car fan I guess), but I started off buying the Forester as a cheap run around car, and had no intention of upgrading wheels, changing stereos or modifying her in any way : ) Who was I kidding!

Now I am already thinking (after seeing Dan’s STI Fozzie!!) I should have got 17”s on her, maybe a front lip spoiler and some side skirts, and sure while I’m at it I really like the STI seats…stop me now please.

Later,
P

Ha ha ha....

All sounds too familiar really... Problem is is that it never stops either. There is always something that needs to be done..

Enjoy it....

yeah , i know the feeking , always want to upgrade summit, its a addiction but wat can u do, get anoyher fix !!!!

Well, fited the 16"s tonight and she looks a whole lot better. Actually better than I expected! I meant to take a before and after type picture, but ill take the after anyway and post it over the weekend.

I am pretty sure I need rear shocks. My left rear sounds awful every time I go over a speed ramp or bump, particularly once there is weight in the rear.

I rang around today and so far I have a price from Advance of €440 and Kwik fir of €405 (although he might do them for €365!!)

Seems expensive to me for regular shocks? Are they that unusual or is it just a long time since I bought a set!

Ill make some more calls tomorrow.

Yeah Dave's a good man alright! I'd say he has forgotten more about scoobies than I'd ever know!  :worship:
I blown my engine in my 98 forester turbo good while ago and I was stuck for a car so he gave me his own car (00 imperza turbo) while he looked for a suitable engine for me (I wanted a cheap 2nd hand one) and when he couldn't find one quick enough, he took the engine out of his own car for me!! and he barely knew me then! now I do be ringing him any time a have an idea for a mod and makes it happen! Like i rang him just before the last trackday at mondello, saying how my car understeered more than I was confertable with so he recomended a stiffer rear anti roll bar! So he got that in for me (a whiteline adjustable one) and she made a nice differnce to the handleing! then I was saying how I liked the xenon head lights on the newer cars and he showed me kits he has to retro fit them to any car! So I got them for my golf!
Now I'm after 6 pot brembo's from the new impreza type ra-r ! I haven't ran Dave yet but though!
some chap!

There's a crowd in inchicore! Universal something  :dunno: I cant remember the name, some one here may know who I'm talking about!
But i bought new kyb struts off them! but to be fair, that kwik fit price looks pretty good if that's fitting included!
I'm sorry it's a good while ago so I dont remember the exact details, just that they were good!
hope she continues to go well for yeh!
Dan
