Does any one know what the punishment is for having no tax? my tax is up tomorrow and i need the car and i cant tax it because the owenership hasn't been changed into my name yet.

Depends on the gard too alot will let it slide if you only bought the car

over 3 months and they'll take the car off you....... think thats an unwritten rule type thing..

u should get a couple of days grace of them but it all depends on the humour the guards in when u get stopped

As above its who stops you and their mood!! I got stopped couple of weeks ago on my way to pay it. Beangarda was a real pain in the a*se!! Checked the whole car over and more or less csalled me a liar about going to pay it and only after recieving the log book!! So if your around Drogheda area watch the beangarda. Shes making a name!

have the car 2years and still no nct and 6 months out of tax, iv it of the road now for the last month, not taking the chance of having it taken off me.
even tho i have the tax form stamped by the local guard.
