To store or not to store...

After some thoughts / comments...

I have a 2005 (2006 MY) 2.5Xten Forester. I'm buying a 2016 XC Forester and going to use my car in part-ex. I do love my Xten though and am seriously considering putting it in to storage - i've emailed an outfit in Limerick for a long term quote. What do people think? Am i mad thinking about long term storage? Where I live is about 20 miles from the nearest storage place so chances of me just tipping up to take it for a drive are slim. But i hate to think that my Xten might be scrapped because of high road tax and draconian insurance restrictions because of its age...

Just my two cents but I?d say you are getting virtually no value trading this in. If you were buying for cash you?d get a decent discount.

I think you?d be mad storing it cause you won?t use it and it will just cost you money, stick it up for sale and see if you?ve any interest, you might get lucky

Only store if it's costing you nothing otherwise your burning money for no return

As above. Reality by sounds of your post of using in near future is prob slim. So you have 2-3 years storage fee.
