Thinking about applying for my class C Drivers license (provisional) and just wondering how i go about because i have been told its all changed because of the new Digital TachoGraph etc , any help be great ,

that would be a good place to start all right

where do i go to do that ? no provisional test when i got my car license :hand: Assume i can apply on line :ponder2:

You'll have to do a Theory test first and then apply for the provisional. It's just wagons after June 06 have the digi-card, Personally I'll stick with the anologue for as long as I can
Go for it Tommy but driving jobs are scarce at the moment :icon_sad:
I'll give ya a few spins in the Volvo if you want  it'll get ya in the swing of things for yer lessons.
Cheers
John

Considering this myself...
The father is a HGV driver and have driven 18tonnes and a artic a few times
but it aint easy!!Nerves do be all over the shop especially driving through the city centre!! :multijump:
Fair play tommy and best of luck with it!!

Whats your MTO (Driver Number)??? :dontknow:

keep meaning to apply for the artic test, the most important thing in the truck test is dont clip a kerb. i failed the test first time for lack of progress, was tempted to bring the fecker back out for a blast in the car. i'll show him progress :icon_lol:

Tommy if your not working you can do a free 10 week course through Fas, you will get €240 a week for doing it and at the end if you pass you will have your C license.

But you will need your provisional C to do it.

As above, head for your theory test, if ya can get it throw fas do, think the rules changed in sept after your theory, more of one test needed. Lessons are very expensive but a must :angry1:. the drivers card is nothing to do with the test. Just needed to drive anything over 06 instead of a tacho card

friend of mine did it a few weeks ago and the instructor failed him cos he jumped down on to the ground after the test......

he said he could have landed awkwardly and broke his leg....

€100 a lesson i think (depending who you do it with), theres a new one day test you have to sit now also for all new Licenses, exsisting holders will have to do the madatory test in 5 years. This test will be covered by Fas. By coincedence i booked my fas place for it this morning.

Cheers lads , goin to apply as soon as possible ,

seen the fas course all right Lee , only feckin thing is i got a new job starting in 2 weeks time , typical of my luck ,

Att John M i might hold ya to that , not a complete novice tho have had few spins in a Daf 8x4 mixer so your clutch would survive ,

just something ive always ment to do and no time like now

Well you can do it off ur own back tommy, i think the airport driving school are doing €50 a lesson. You just need your provisinal,

Oh and when you do the theroy you will be asked questions on all the truck types.

Wouldn't mind doin it myself,
altho as a man who has driven artics and ridged's all of his working life my auld man would tell me to steer clear of a life of HGV driving :icon_rolleyes:

maybe we could get a group buy on lessons

We'll be seeing you on Discovery yet Tom  up and down the Ice road

"KEEP ON TRUCKIN"

pretty handy test i thought!!!

dunno how much it costs coz the auld AA pay for everything
