So im having no luck in finding someone to build my vf24, so I'm looking into going new.

So:

SC38 or a cheaper TD05-18G

I'm not looking into spending over the 1k ish mark.

Where would be best to get a TD05-18g, preferable in the uk.

I got an sc36 and found it good but didn't test the limits of it hard to beat standard subaru built turbos

370 on uk fuel, knock a good bit off with our shite 95.

I can get the sc36 at 1k approx, have a vat number. so would go new for the peace of mind if i went down that route

It basically looks like a blouch.

Is the
sc36 just a td05 16g billet
sc38 tdo5 18g billet etc.

I've been browsing rallysportdirect:

At the moment the Blouch td05 18g may get bought, My thinking is I want a turbo that if I decide to forge the engine and go 6 speed I can go for the 400/400 on 95 ron , I dont need to buy again.

I'd like to keep spool times close to stock.

I would probably aim for 330-350/330-350 with next map on 95 ron, 550cc injectors and fmic.

The 8cm housing is more suited to a 2.5 , it will be laggy on a 2 litre you need a 7cm to keep the lag to a minimum.

Don?t get hung up on numbers , as mentioned before your car could make 300 on one dyno and 350 on another.

400hp is a tough one to achieve from my experience.
Forging the engine alone won?t give you any more power just reliability at the extra power .

its your business and your car /money but if you are not building a drag car I don't know why would you need more than 350 in a classic. Mine is a newage and more or less stock powerwise and I find it hard to push her to the limit on a spirited drive on a twisty backroad. Then I figured that tyres and suspension are more important to me than the extra ponys.
When It comes to turbos I'm not expert but when I was doing my own research I came across one rule and that was to get the smallest turbo that fulfils your requirements. This way you won't lack on spool and wont get a lag. I had a sc36 that I never got a chance to fit but I sold it to a Limerick member who fitted into a Fozz type M and he is given a good review. Also sc36 is within the limits of the 5 speed box.
But then again if you are mad to build a big power scooby and the money are burning you pockets dont let my poor man advices stopping you :scoobyblue_1:
