Used Murphy's Truck Rental a few times behind the Red Cow hotel... reasonable I thought.
Yeah ill have to take it for two days from them, working out at 160 euro for 2 days, i might see can i get a lend of a van off someone, might be the better option!
For that money you can get somebody to do it for you... 2 men and a van and none of the heartache of doing anything yourself... Have a look at: http://www.anyvan.ie/ Create the job (when, how much stuff and from where to where) and different operators will bid on the job (price gets better for you over time as more folks bid on the job). For a job a little while back it worked out cheaper than renting a van AND I didn't need to do any lifting :yellowthumb:
I got a transit jumbo from dan Ryan about 18months ago. Collect after 4pm Friday and back before 10am on Monday for about €85 I think. It'll also cost you a few quid to transfer your insurance to commercial for a couple of days.
Just my experience but Relying on mates with vans or borrowing just restricts you, rent one and have the freedom to come and go when it suits.
I might be able to get a lend of one of the work van's that has open drive on it so no need to transfer insurance etc, it would be parked up for the weekend too, just waiting for your man to get back to me on Monday.
Yeah... B license is fine for anything up to 3500kgs and Transit is within that category (as are other common medium sized vans like Transporter, Vito & smaller Sprinters, Hi-ace / Pro-ace, Vivaro, Primastar, Master or Traffic, Expert or Boxer) .
Be careful with IVECOs and some of the MB Sprinters as some are rated 6500-7500kg and you would need a C1 for that.
