bike072.jpg

so we (me, my dad and the brother) have talked about doing this for some time as it has been just lying up and not used, so on my usual sunday visit to my mam ands dads i found my dad had started without us haha i know it would happen and in no time he had the poor bike in bits and sadly as i wanted to take as many pics of the process as i could i missed out on the dismantling, but as you will all see i made up for it with the pics that are coming

first of all we have the parts been all cleaned of any oils and what not that will get in the way of the painting process, here is the frame:

all the rest of the bits like the rear frame and headlight brackets went off for sand blasting as ther was a small bit of rust, after all the bits and bobs came back it was time for me to step in and take over the painting end of it, so far i have finished the frame so here it is

now with all the colours going on this bike being solid (non metallic) im putting on 3-4 coats of clear to get a good base to block the clear to a glass finish and to get good depth to really show off the colours, i only got a quick snap on the tank as my phone died

Haa... I know what you mean.... used mine mostly for short commuting... but any weekend spins and I'd find myself cramping up on it a good deal coz of size.
