Vista Sp2 installation problem

Folks,

Went to update to vista sp2 because the pc said so,on the restart i got the following error on a black sreen:
!!0xc0000034!! 142/53223 (_0000000000000000.cdf-ms)

Ran the diagnostic "startup repair" yielding the following:

Root Cause found:
Boot configuration is corrupt

If anyone is handy with pc's i appreciate the direction to go in,i went to manually re-install vista from the disc didnt work.

She's royally shagged!

had the same problem with my own a few times!!!

best thing I can suggest if take your Vista cd, Throw it in the bin and never ever install it again....
Vista is the biggest bucket of sh*t available....

However once ya run the repair function and get it up and running make sure all your updates are done.....

Currenty doing a factory reset,nothing else seems to work,id say i have reasonable pc skills but this is like nothing i've ever seen
