Going to take the plunge and buy from the Uk, have my eye on 2 cars, one of them below. If I can get a good deal I'm heading over the week after next

I'm getting mad results on vrt for this baby, how can you possibly cheat the system/ get away with lower vrt? I'm seeing between 3300 & close to 5 k for this one. Choice is between an A6 S line & 520 m sport. Have bout 15 k euro all in . Any help on the vrt would be great.
 
You would probably have a '08 version cheaper. From '08 onwards it goes by the c02 emissions rather than engine size. Not sure if that engine falls into category 1 or 2 but means you would only be paying vrt at 14 or 16% rather than the 25% on a '07 model.

Same goes for tax, probably €250 tax band for '08 model versus €660 for 07 model

Resale prices on '07 diesels will be shot to pieces in a year or two as well
 
Fooking hell the c02 emissions are high on that!

They do check the log book but also have all the info recorded on their database too
