I'll give them a shot tomorrow, mines not blown or anything just letting far too much oil into the system!
First start in the mornings its Smokey as fcuk so I want to catch it now before it gets any worse.

there's a crowd in portlaoise thats are meant to be great turbo technics i think something like that

i have one also :angry1: :angry1: and the seals in the turbo were done twice :angry1: there probably the worst van on the market for what they cost nice to drive but never again .

I know a guy who's gone through 3 and 2 engines.
I'm on my second engine and first turbo so can't complain really :icon_rolleyes:

For 30k I was expecting it to last a lifetime, that's why I bought the fooking thing :angry1: :angry1:
 
Is it just a 2.5 problem? Iv got a 1.9 and find it grand and know of other high mileage examples with no problems
 
1.9s are more known for water pump problems . but to be honest would never buy another vw anything again. manifold leak , duel mass flywheels going, front drive shafts ringing, rear wheel bearings going , central locking not working , and only 800 km per 120euros fill for a van that cost 30 gran there shite sorry rant over .

im sure a lot of people wont agree
but i personally find vw to be very over rated
from any car i have owned myself from vw
they have been trouble
im sure lots of people on here swear buy them
but i have never had a good experience with them
 
to be fair to them they take some grief or at least the 3 company vans ive had did,

had an 04 1.9tdi , never one problem with it despite around 50k in 10 months taking its toll on the tyres etc , second one was an 08, 2.5 140 , gave it some grief , constant overloading and hard driving , lasted well until the guy who had it after me wrote it off , 3rd one is an 09 with fook all miles when igot it and about everything has been replaced bar the engine and turbo ,the clutch ,suspension, flywheel , were done after christmas for the doe , its hanging , have my suspicions about the engine now , give it 3-4 months and i reckon it'll be toast .

alot of people swear by them but no one will ever admit to buying something thats over rated and over priced ,

And here was me thinking I'd work it for a.few years then retire it as a day/camper van
 
Never heard of a 2.5 140hp :dontknow:

I now of one that has been in at least 3 accidents, carried so much cement that the rear bumper was touching the road, towed stupid weight, had the stones driven out of it and its still going!

Personally I've looked after mine very well and had a load of faults and problems with it, it would make you wonder what the hell is going on.

Although its not a vw I know a chap with a 2011 Renault van, dings and marks all over it, 80+k on it and hasn't had a service! Yes that's right not one service from new and I was with him when he checked the oil which didn't even register on the dip stick! It's not fair I tells ya.....
