have to disagree with you eric, i taught it was a great world cup and it showed that football today is a real team effort and not one superstar sport.
look at france with all there stars but no team spirit because of the manager, look at italy, england and portugal, all teams that think they should just turn up and be in the quater finals, football has so much more to it in todays age.
3rd and 4th teams uraguay and germany, you could probably only name a handful of players from both teams before the tournament started and both could have been in the final
