+1

:smokin:

you can knock them all to be honest coz they all have problems....
the merc sprinter is statisically the van with least amount of failures!!!!

red head in a transit tom,not a good idea
i think one of the best vans is the transporter 2.5tdi
great van, plenty of torque and good on diesel

I can't recommend an VW Lt35 or Merc Sprinter highly enough,
The smallest LT is a little bit bigger than the transporter, but it's so much comfier, same with the Merc
I have the LWB high roof crew cab LT35 157bhp, I actually enjoy driving her
I drove an automatic merc sprinter 130bhp and that was just the nicest van I have ever driven!
The noise of a transit went through me, and the transporter was great driver up quite bouncy on back roads!
Go test drive a load of them up at derek burtun's and then find which ever one you want privately!
Bare in mind, VRT is €50 on a van, so NI and UK are still options!

ah you cant knock knock the renault or the opel either to much i have a vivaro
an its sitting on 20'' inch rims it gets dogs now i mean dogs abuse i often
have a three axle trailer behind me with a 4 tonne digger on it or a 3an half tonne bobcat
or rollers an it never ever misses a beat
an me owl chap has a traffic full to the neck with heavy band gear
an same thing never let ya down
bit heavy on the owl juice do lad well specially with the tunning box anyway

If you are looking for the powerful ones or an automatic merc! NI or UK

Have you seen the bigger version of the new vw caddy van ?

Good long van with twin sliding doors etc ,

well i.v had 3 new vans in the last 6 years 04 transit was shite gave nothing but problems diesel pump, injectors and sounding like a tractor after only 90 k . 05 merc vito 111 long wheel base was told nothing but horror stories about them before i bought it put 250 k on it and the only problems i had were the front bushings use to ware and cause a knocking sound replaced twice under warranty .lovely comfortable van to drive and not to bad on diesel 900 klm for 70 liters .08 vw transporter 2.5 130 bhp nice enough to drive but not as nice as the vito have it about a year and a half now and have 100k on it .had no major problems so far window switch broke airbag light stayed on all covered under warranty .but it's heavy on diesel 630 /700 for 70 liters .there's a vibration in it now at the moment on and off heard people saying that the(dmf) duel mass flywheel gives problems in them so i hope it's not that . whatever van you get make sure it's being looked after and serviced well otherwise it could cost you lots of money .happy hunting :thumbs up:

Second most common vehicle when I was doing recovery was mercedes sprinter. Always injector trouble.

Wasn't the hse in grief with there fleet of Spriter ambulances with the injector problem ?

remember passing 4 or 5 on the m50 with the bonnet up over a 3 month period or so
