HI all,just back from my 12 month visit to the states and am looking to get back to my scooby.
Since i sold my STI before i left i have been looking for a new 1 and came acroos a
WRX NB-R,its a 02 blobeye model late december model in 02.
Have googled this and had little success any info would be helpfull.

Here you go! She's a limited edition in Japan!

The non-turbo bugeye Impreza was called "WRX NA" in Japan (155 hp). The turbocharged version had 250 hp and badged as "WRX NB". The special edition WRX NB-R had some extras like the higher rear wing! Looks like the STi Shocks and Back box!

Thanks for the pics,but its the peanut/blobeye shape and has all the sti bits red engine block version 8 wing,sti top mount intercooler,sti interior etc. seats,clocks,suspension,exhaust system.Only difference i can tell is it has the EJ205DW4BE engine & applied code is GADB4HD(extra B in there for some reason).Am collecting on Tuesday and will post pics.From what the guy told me its a JDM WRX sent over to the UK as a softer version STI 26 BHP in the diffrence.Is he stuffing me.
 
The pics there are of the NB-R which was the special edition, one the one your looking at! It is a JDM model and buts out 250BHP which is only about 15-25 approx of the STI for the same year! All the interiors are the same basically only differance been the Covering! If the one your looking at has the Sti one then happy days! It has a few STi bits by the look of it but what exactly I cann't tell! Fog lamp covers, Back Box and suspension been the most obvious!

Don't know anything about Versions coming from Japan to the english market! The Only one of Know of been the TypeR that they made into the P1. I'm sure subaru uk as subaru Ireland don't stand over Jap market cars!

WRX 2001

August 2000 brings the 2001MY WRX NB sedan. It has an EJ205 with AVCS coupled with an IHI VF30 turbocharger. The engine produces 250 PS (184 kW) at 6000 rpm with 34 kg·m (333 N·m) at 3600 rpm. The wheels are 16 inch in diameter. The car uses 2 pot/1 pot front and rear brakes. The front brake rotors are ventilated while the rear are solid disks. It has a torsen rear LSD and a 4.44 final drive ratio. The transmission has close-ratio gears unique to Subaru of Japan at that point in time. The car has a curb weight of 1340 kg (2954 lb).

WRX 2002

The 2002MY WRX NB sedan debuts on September 2001. The mechanical specifications are similar to the previous year's model but the curb weight has been increased to 1350 kg (2976 lb). 17" wheels also added!
 
Thanks a millon lads the WRX NB-R must have all the STI bits excact same as oringinal STI.
The WRX NB doent have the STI extras it seems.Happy days so 250 BHP isnt to bad for wrx

Ya me neither but your man that is selling it said that he was told that it is a very rare model
as it has all STI parts and seeminly only a small munber were produced(thaught he was filling me up with S**T) as the bugeye didn't come in till 03

Bug eyes ran from Dec 00 to dec 02. You can get a few demo cars on 00 plate here!

Sorry meant BLOBEYE,cant post any pics of car till Tuesday and no link as i got the number from a mate
who knew this lad who was putting up his for sale and my mate knew i was in the market for 1
I went to look at it on Friday will fire off a text and see if i can get him to send me a pic.
 
Here is what i found on Wiki

The WRX has received two styling updates. The exterior "bug eyed" styling was widely regarded as somewhat unattractive, so Subaru introduced a mild facelift (often called blob eyes or peanut eyes) of the front end in the 2002 Paris Auto Show.

The car i was looking at must of been a demo brought in late 02 as a 03 model,but was registered in 02.

Rev. C (2003)
The WRX NB-R sedan is released on November 2002. The power and torque ratings are the same as the previous year. The wheel diameters are increased to 17" in size. The rear brake rotor is changed to a ventilated disk, leaving the car to use only ventilated disks for braking. The car has 4 pot/2 pot front and rear brakes.

They started making the BLOBEYE in Nov 02

Mines a 2003 V-Limited. 250 BHP on Jap fuel so the dealer is right kinda but we dont have jap fuel over here so the BHP figure will be affected
