WRX to STI steering rack?

Hi there.
My wrx just failed it's NCT with play in the steering rack. I've a breaker nearby that has both wrx and sti cars for breaking and said he can give me either and said the sti rack has a better steering ratio.
My question is is it a direct swap or will their be modifications needed?
It's a 2001 wrx bugeye and basically wondering will a sti bug rack bolt up the same to my wrx?

You sure it’s not the inner or outer tie rods as Iv had thins before with the Nct . Do your own checked or get your machanic to check before you go getting a rack

Hi, no we put new inner tie torods in January, when holding the wheels there's a bit of play in the rack and that's why it was failing. Be heading soon to my breaker so just kinda wanna know to only get a wrx rack or sti rack of it bolts up the same.

All the same afaik over in America they swop in 2014 racks as they have a better ratio like the spec c racks
